November's Aikido Hajime Class
This month's Aikido Hajime class will be held during the regularly scheduled adult Aikido class on Wednesday, November 23.
The class is open to all adult and youth Aikido students.
"Hajime" means to begin and we will be doing techniques rapidly on that command. It is an excellent cardio workout as well as an excellent training tool. When you must react quickly over and over to a command, you have no time to think about what you are going to do - you can only do. That is important in the martial arts. Be sure not to miss this class.

November Karate Kata Night
This month's Karate Kata night will be held during the regularly scheduled Adult Karate class on Thursday, November, 24th.
The class is open to all adult karate members of Renseikan Dojo, as well as any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu. From our newsletter:
"After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and sometimes also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month. "

Bring a Friend Week - September 19-24
On Monday, September 19th , 2005 we will begin our Bring-A-Friend Week. This is an excellent opportunity for students to introduce their martial arts training to a friend. Your friend may be a friend, a parent, a teacher, an aunt or uncle, a neighbour – anyone you know who would like to try the martial arts. Tell them to wear track pants and a t-shirt and come out and have fun.
You may bring as many friends to your class as you want, or send them to any of our regular classes in jodo, karate or aikido. Friends who are less than 18 years old must have their parents sign our Bring a Friend form. You can download copies of the Bring a Friend form or pick up copies of the form at the dojo.

There were five Jodo sensei and one Iaido sensei from Japan - this year there were more people doing Jodo than Iaido!
